NEW song from Talktin and Easy

"No One in Control" is the second single from Talktin and Easy's upcoming record, "All In Our Family Of Trees". The beautiful single art was done by Sebastien Deramat.

Talktin is playing an acoustic show at Victory Lounge in Seattle on 1/3/16.

Here are some words to go with the music:

It seems only in a dream world can I grasp the reality that we may not be as individual as we would like to think. My existential egotistical self might just be trying to trick me into believing that my importance is material, and of great value. Thus I try to shape myself into the puzzle piece that fits into the greater human narrative.
But that's just the problem; predetermination overshadowing spontaneous creation.
Perhaps the same should be said about shaping yourself.
After all, we are just wild animals.
But I think we're much more wild when we're young.
That's when we're not shaping our selves at all. When all we are, are spontaneous actions.
What if we're not supposed to "grow up" from that at all?. Maybe we could be living the most exciting lives imaginable, simply by letting go of our desire for control.

Anyway, I'm gonna go check my Facebook now.

Talktin and Easy!

Oh wow, it's finally happening. This has been a long time coming... Here's the first single from the new Talktin and Easy record "All in Our Family of Trees"!!!

I'm so proud of this project... We're going to be releasing a new song from the record #everythreeweeks until March or so when we put the record out! Gwen at Seattle Mag was nice enough to premiere the song over on their website

And then while you're at it you should go check out the Talktin and Easy website...

We put a bunch of work into it and there's cool stuff there there's even a weird text-based video game I made in there somewhere

what just happened? so saddened and disappointed. I live in somewhat of a liberal bubble socially and I never thought in a million years trump could realistically win. So sad, and while it is a bit of kneejerk reaction, I feel that it's important at this time to state that SEACATS are pro-feminism, pro-black lives matter, pro-LGBTQ rights, etc.

basically anti- most of the things trump believes. I still have love for conservatives, but I don't plan to be as quiet about these things as I have been in the past. I have cared about these issues for a long time, but have not really spoken publicly partially for fear of "rocking the boat" socially, and partially because as a white straight male I do not encounter bigotry on a regular basis, and therefore can naively assume that things aren't as bad as they actually are.

One thing we can thank trump and this election cycle for is #makingartrelevantagain and we must all use our voices (artistically and otherwise) at this time to state our beliefs louder than ever. I am open to engage in meaningful dialogues with those who disagree with me. My thoughts are with everyone from the marginalized groups who are now dealing with the brunt of the emotional pain caused by this election.

Welcome one, welcome all to SEACATS Universe. We've had this thing in the works for some time as a way to present our disparate content all together in one place. Think of it as part blog, part collective, part record label. So to start this thing off right, we are releasing a new SEACATS EP!

I'm very proud of this one and think y'all will enjoy it as well. Check out the new site, oh and also we're going to be releasing more new stuff soon! Next up will be the first single from the Talktin and Easy album :D
